Redcar Sounds is a Los Angeles native with a deep love for the city and its culture.

Juxtaposition, or putting two things that seem vastly different next to each other, is at the core of mixing, and the juxtaposition of cultures is what has driven Redcar’s broad music taste and his identity.

As the child of Taiwanese immigrants growing up in Artesia, California with mostly Mexican, Portuguese, and Salvadoran neighbors, and with a father and grandmother who spent a considerable amount of time living in Costa Rica, Redcar has had the privilege of having many different facets of Los Angeles etched into his youth.

Having taken his stage name from the old trains that used to connect all of the diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles together, Redcar hopes to do the same and connect people from all over the world with his passion for West Coast hip-hop, R&B, and Latin music.

Redcar has taken his music up and down the West Coast in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. He has played at many venues around the Greater Los Angeles like The Roxy, the Westin Bonaventure, Chapman, Cal State Fullerton, and is currently a regular for events at his alma mater, USC.
